Hey everyone! I wanted to share one thing I’ve been doing consistently during quarantine. I decided over three weeks ago now to begin a series called “well-tempered quarantine.” It stemmed from my love of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. He wrote a famous book of piano pieces known collectively as the “Well-Tempered Clavier”.

I thought I would try recording and posting a video on Facebook of one of these pieces every day that I was confined to my home (there are 96 total pieces divided between two books!). This quickly evolved into friends requesting I play other pieces and songs so I also simultaneously started using the title “Jukebox Quarantine.”

As of writing this blog post I am on day 22 of this idea and have played not only pieces by classical composers like Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin, and Scriabin (plus Bach of course), but also pop tunes from the Beatles, Billy Joel, and Elton John to name some of them. It’s given me a chance to brush up on music I’ve always loved and get to share it with lots of people.

My “Well-Tempered Quarantine”

If we are not Facebook friends already feel free to send me a request so you can see all the music I’ve been posting! Stay well, everyone!
